Retreats at Pie in the Sky
Windcall at Pie in the Sky

With deep gratitude and much appreciation for the opportunity to serve, we suspend the particular aspect of our work which has allowed us to make a temporary home for Windcall. The funding Windcall Futures Project was able to provide allowed us serve many find social change activists.

With great enthusiasm fo several years we have welcomed and made to feel at home a series of hard working, often tired, and worn activists.

Activists from many parts of the broad movement for social change have benefitted by attending Windcall at Pie in the Sky: union activists, environmental activists. People involved in fair housing issues, AIDS activism, and disability issues.

Social justice organizers working within the disaster zone of New Orleans and other parts of the US Gulf coast, community organizers in many cities working for social justice issues.

At Pie in the Sky we have provided attractive and relaxing spaces to activists who have come to us from all over the world. We have made a safe, warm, welcoming space to unwind in.

Retreators have climbed mountains, swum, hiked, biked, taken painting classes, yoga classes. They have bird watched, kyaked, sketched, modeled clay, read, written, eaten, relaxed, and engaged in deep discussions with us and with each other.

This wonderful project has been funded up to now by the Windcall Futures Project and by several small foundations and individual donors. Unfortunately grants have become scarcer and scarcer to secure.

The project seeks both major donors and granting agencies in order to resume here at Pie in the Sky or anywhere else on the planet.

You may contact us at Pie in the Sky for more details about we’d like to put in place to enable on going retreats at Pie in the Sky Farm.

Meanwhile: writers, activists, artists hospice workers, and others who really feel in need of a rest, or just a peaceful quiet space to work on their own project may as well contact us and let us know your needs. Sometimes activists find they can secure from their friends, church or community or other agencies, a way to fund their retreat/stay at Pie in the Sky.

We do everything we can to make your stay here affordable for you as well as make the retreat meet your needs in every way possible.

You know who you are. Let your needs be known. Meanwhile we will continue reaching out to people who may be able to help fund activists to be at Pie in the Sky.
